Food Production Worker

Here at Erie Meat Products Ltd, we are dedicated to providing families with “feel good food”. Our products are of the highest quality – all of our facilities are inspected by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency to ensure this. Every week, we process more than 3 million pounds of meat, making us one of the largest meat manufacturing facilities in Canada.

We are currently hiring Food Production Workers. We have both day and afternoon shift positions, and they are available immediately!

Details of this position:

  • Day shift: 8AM to 4:30PM
  • Afternoon shift: 4PM to 12:30AM
  • Monday to Friday, with optional over-time
  • Full time, ongoing position with room for advancement
  • Bussing to/from Kitchener-Waterloo is available at a reduced cost
  • $14.50/hour to start. $15/hour after four weeks of employment
  • Attendance bonus available on afternoon shift


Requirements of this position:

  • Work on a production line, packaging meat products as directed by Lead Hand
  • Perform assigned duties and advise Lead Hand of any production or quality issues as they arise
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and all other food safety practices as established by Erie Meat Products to ensure safe, quality products are manufactured
  • Able to follow regular daily routines. Also able to work without direct supervision when tasks have been thoroughly defined
  • Follow Health and Safety Guidelines as established by Erie Meat Products to maintain a safe work environment
  • Maintain hygiene levels of self and attire as appropriate for food handling purposes
  • Packing, sorting, or placing of raw, cooked or frozen products
  • May have to work with beef, pork, and/or poultry


What will you need?

  • CSA approved Steel-Toed Safety Footwear is mandatory
  • Reliability and good communication skills
  • Must be able to work in a cool environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Positive attitude
