Set Up Mechanic - Nights

Every week, we process more than 3 million pounds of meat, making us one of the largest meat manufacturing facilities in Canada.

We are currently hiring for a SET-UP MECHANIC. We have a night shift position, and it is available immediately!

The night shift Setup Mechanic is responsible for completing teardown, assisting with setting up production equipment, and ensuring that it is running properly by a set time daily.

Details of this position:

  • Night Shift: 8:30PM to 7:30AM
  • Monday to Friday
  • Full time, ongoing placement with room for advancement
  • Pay determined on knowledge, education, and skill level

Requirements of this position:

  • Teardown and set up production equipment as needed
  • Troubleshoot and solve various mechanical issues as they arise
  • Perform regular daily routines without direct supervision. Advise Production or Maintenance Manager of any issues that could delay start up
  • Complete associated documentation as established by Erie Meat Products for inventory tracking, HACCP plan compliance, or other purposes
  • Act as an advisor to Machine Operators if non-mechanical issues occur
  • Complete preventative, predictive maintenance tasks as per the company’s extensive PM Programme

What will you need?

  • CSA approved Steel-Toed Safety Footwear is mandatory
  • Reliability and good communication skills
  • Proven mechanical aptitude
  • Strong judgement
  • Able to work independently
  • Initiative
  • Able to do a physically demanding job, having to lift approximately 30KG/66LBS repeatedly
  • Provide own tools
  • Some experience operating machinery in a food processing or other manufacturing environment
